As a Financial Administrator you are an essential part of the Viroclinics accounting & controlling team. You will be working closely with other members of the accounting team. This position reports directly to the Director Finance and over a period of time, you will get plenty of opportunities to grow in the role as Viroclinics-DDL continues to expand.

On a daily basis you will be involved in various financial processes, such as Purchase to Pay, the project administration, trade receivables (Order to Cash) and continuous and month-end closing and reporting (Record to Report). You will be working a minimum of 32 hours a week, both remotely and from our head office at the Rotterdam Science Tower. The activities stated below are your key responsibilities:


Purchase to Pay


  • Recording, coding and booking supplier invoices
  • Project administration: recording project invoices in the project administration
  • Creating new suppliers in the accounting system
  • First point of entry for supplier queries
  • Weekly preparing of supplier payments
  • Working closely with the procurement team
  • Weekly processing of bank transactions/statements
  • Maintaining, reviewing and reconciling the AP subledger on recurring and monthly basis
  • Maintaining the credit card administration


Order to Cash


  • Trade receivables collection
  • Resolving payment issues
  • Maintaining, reviewing and reconciling the AR subledger on recurring and monthly basis


Record to Report


  • Basic general ledger bookings
  • Maintaining and reconciling various balance sheet and P&L account specifications
  • Assisting in financial audit process

Your personal characteristics and background:


  • 1-3 years financial administrative experience
  • MBO or HBO graduation in financial field or relevant training;
  • Willingness to learn new things;
  • Adaptable, flexible and able to succeed in a dynamic and changing environment;
  • Hands-on, pro-active, self-starter with a can-do attitude;
  • Good communication skills, both in Dutch and English (comfortable);
  • Adequate IT skills, particularly in Excel and MS office package.
